For the third straight year, the Bensalem High School Marine Corps JROTC was named by Headquarters Marine Corps as a Naval Honor School for its overall efforts during the 2022-2023 school year. This distinction is given only to Marine Corps JROTCs, considered the top 20 percent of programs nationwide.
Announced initially and bestowed upon the Bensalem MCJROTC at the beginning of this school year, the ceremony to officially hang the streamer to their unit colors was delayed a few weeks to allow Liam Robinson, Former Cadet CO Class of 2023 to be in attendance. Robinson departed on Tuesday morning, October 3 for North Carolina, to continue his training as a United States Marine.
“To be named as a Naval Honor School is a major accomplishment, but to be named now three years in a row is amazing. The cadets at Bensalem High School pour their heart and soul into JROTC and it is just wonderful to see their hard work rewarded. This year's ceremony was made special because we were able to celebrate with last year's Cadet Commanding Officer, now Private First Class, USMC, Liam Robinson, who is currently at home on leave after recruit training. We are proud of what he accomplished with us last year while in High School and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him next,” said Master Sergeant Shawn Worthen USMC (Ret.) - Leadership Studies - Marine Instructor.
